They have conductors made of electrolytic copper with 99.99% purity, class 5 flexibility, tinned to help keep the conductors uncorroded for a longer time, and to reduce contact resistance, which lowers the risk of overheating at contact points.
The insulation and sheath are made from halogen-free compounds, thus avoiding the formation of dangerous combinations of gas, acid or toxic smoke when the cables are exposed for a long time to sun or flame.
They can be installed successfully both indoors and outdoors, in industrial or agricultural areas, without being affected by exposure to alkaline vapors, ozone or lubricants.
The ambient operating range is from -40 °C to +90 °C, while at the conductor level the temperature can reach up to +120 °C.
They are usually used in direct current, with the sheath being red (+) or black (-).
The proven normal service life of solar cables is 25 years.
